I’m Simon Roberts, a professional drummer and drum teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience and a career spanning live performance, theatre productions, function bands and cruise ships.

I started playing drums at the age of five and went on to study Popular Music Performance at BIMM London. Since then, I’ve performed in a wide range of musical settings, developing the versatility, musical awareness and reading skills needed to work confidently in professional bands.

Alongside performing, I’m passionate about helping drummers develop the skills that open doors to better playing opportunities. My teaching specialises in drum chart reading, sight-reading, technique and musical confidence, with a particular focus on drummers who want to progress beyond the basics and prepare for professional work.

Whether you want to read charts more fluently, prepare for higher-grade exams, become a more confident dep drummer or work towards opportunities in function bands, theatre or cruise ships, I’ll help you build practical skills that translate directly to real musical situations.

My lessons are structured around your goals, with clear guidance, tailored resources and a practical approach to help you make measurable progress.

My aim is simple: to help you become a more confident, capable and versatile drummer, ready for the opportunities you want to pursue.
